Zusammenfassung

Die ausreichende Versorgung mit Calcium und Vitamin D3 hat für die Prophylaxe und Therapie der Osteoporose einen Stellenwert, der oft unterschätzt wird. Im Folgenden wird auf die Bedeutung von Calcium und Vitamin D3 für die Knochenmasse, die Wirkungsmechanismen und die Möglichkeiten der Gewährleistung einer ausreichenden Versorgung eingegangen.
