Zusammenfassung
Die erste Herztransplantation in Deutschland fand am 13. Februar 1969 in Munchen statt, zwei weitere folgten noch im selben Jahr. Eine kontinuierliche Transplantationsaktivitat begann aber erst nach zwolfjAhriger Pause im Jahre 1981. Seither wurden in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (BRD) fiber 6500 Herztransplantationen in mehr als 30 Herzzentren und caber 50 Herztransplantationen in zwei Herzzentren der ehemaligen Deutschen Demokratischen Republik (DDR) durchgefuhrt.
