Abstract
The snack, or buffet, provided for participants of small training programs and seminars corresponds to the industrial exhibition offered to physicians attending large Meetings. Although participant behavior does make the buffet appear warranted, it would be incorrect to believe that the buffet satisfies essential needs only. Rather, the buffet allows physicians accustomed to an 80-hour workweek to at least once in a while enjoy eating at leisure. And we find it particularly severe to accuse colleagues of always appearing an hour late for such events because by then the training session has ended and the buffet has finally been opened.
