Zusammenfassung
Sportassoziierte und sportfremde Schulterverletzungen unterscheiden sich in morphologischer Hinsicht nur unwesentlich [41]. Hingegen sind sportartspezifische Besonderheiten hervorzuheben, die angesichts der in einer Sportart resultierenden Überlastungsphänomene typische Problemkomplexe (Tennis-, Werfer-, Schwimmer-, Fechterschulter usw.) hervorrufen können. Die Häufigkeit behandlungsbedürftiger Probleme im Bereich der Schulter bei Überkopfdisziplinen - Tennis, Baseball, Volleyball, Schwimmen, Wurf-und Stoßdisziplinen - wird mit bis zu 24% angegeben [21, 41]. Hauptschmerzursachen sind oft funktionelle Defizite und eine unausgewogene muskuläre Balance aufgrund einseitiger Belastungsanforderungen ohne entsprechende aktive und passive Protektion.
