Abstract

The inferior olivary complex in Mammalia, including humans, is composed of three major subnuclei, namely, the medial accessory olive, the dorsal accessory olive, and the principal olive. These subnuclei can be subdivided into additional smaller subnuclei. The nuclear mass, throughout its whole length, lies dorsal to the pyramids and near the ventral border of the medulla oblongata.
