Zusammenfassung

Die alkoholische Hepatitis (AH) ist eine durch Alkohol initiierte Lebererkrankung mit typischen morphologischen, klinischen und laborchemischen Besonderheiten. In der Pathogenese spielen Stoffwechselprodukte des Alkohols, wie Radikale, Acetaldehyde und Reduktionsäquivalente eine wichtige Rolle. Entscheidend ist die Aktivierung des Immunsystems durch Neoantigene und Endotoxine. Die Erkrankung läßt sich eindeutig nur mittels Leberbiopsie erfassen. Hierbei sind morphologisch die Infiltration neutrophiler, polymorphkerniger Leukozyten, das Auftreten von Mallory-Bodies und das „ballooning“ der Hepatozyten besonders charakteristisch.
