Zusammenfassung

Unter Dysphagie im engeren Sinne versteht man eine schmerzlose Behinderung des Schluckaktes. Im allgemeinen wird dieser Ausdruck aber für alle Schluckstörungen verwendet (Neubrand et al. 1997). Der eher ungebräuchliche Begriff Aphagie meint die vollständige Schluckunfähigkeit. Mit Odynophagie werden Schmerzen beim Schlucken bezeichnet.
