Zusammenfassung
Hauteigene Lipide definieren die Besiedelung der Hautoberfläche durch Mikroorganismen, indem sie zum einen eine antimikrobielle Barriere darstellen und selektiv das Vordringen bestimmter Organismen verhindern, zum anderen, indem sie für zur residenten Flora gehörende Mikroorganismen geeignete Adhä-sionsepitope bereitstellt, die von diesen zur Bindung an Haut genutzt werden. Durch topische Applikation entsprechender Wirksysteme sollte es demnach möglich sein, die mikrobielle Besiedelung der Haut gezielt im positiven Sinne zu beeinflussen und auf diesem Weg einen Beitrag zur Prävention und Behandlung mikrobiell assoziierter Hauterkrankungen zu leisten.
