Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is to demonstrate the clinical utility of rhinomanometry in the evaluation as an integral part of preoperative studies of nasos-inusal microendoscopic surgery in patients with nasal obstructions associated with rhinosinusal pathology. Nasal obstruction is the most frequent symptom of patients with nasosinusal pathology, and rhinomanometry is the only objective and dynamic method by which air pressure and air flow through the nasal cavities can be measured [4, 8, 10–14,17,18]. Acoustic rhinometry is a good, objective and static method to evaluate the morphology of the nasal cavity and rhinopharynx; acoustic rhinometry can complement rhinomanometry, but the indications and usefulness of each are different [1, 6, 14].
