Abstract
Whenever possible, enteral delivery of nutrients is the preferred route for specialized nutrition support in critically ill patients. In addition to obvious economic benefits, substantial clinical data demonstrates improved clinical outcome in certain groups of critically ill or critically injured medical and surgical patients.
