Zusammenfassung
Krankheitserreger—Viren, Bakterien, Pilze, Parasiten und auch Algen—können synoviale Gewebe als vitale Organismen direkt besiedeln. Nicht bei allen Arthritiden, die mit erregerbedingten extraartikulären Krankheitssymptomen assoziiert sind, lassen sich Keime in den Gelenken nachweisen—sie werden als reaktive Arthritiden (s. S. 346) gedeutet. Da eine sichere Entscheidung über die pathogenetischen Grundlagen nicht immer möglich ist, sollen als Sonderformen Entzündungen dargestellt werden, die durch beide Mechanismen erklärbar sind.
