Abstract

Recent findings have generated interest in measuring intracellular pH (pHi) in cells undergoing apoptosis. Studies have shown acidification to be an early feature of apoptosis in a number of systems and prevention of acidification appears to be protective in some but not a1l systems.1 It is possible to obtain information about pHi and apoptosis by three channel flow cytometry.
