Abstract

In the time domain, the output of a linear system is the result of the convolution of the input with the impulse response function; the inverse process is termed deconvolution. The purpose of deconvolution is to eliminate the convolution effects of previous processes affecting the signals or, in the terminology of linear systems, to determine the system input from the system output.
