Abstract

Suppose you have a uniformly illuminated circular filled aperture. You want to estimate the power received in the first sidelobe relative to that received in the main lobe. From ‘Microwave Antenna Theory and Design’ (ed S. Silver, Dover, New York, p. 193) the maximum amplitude is y = (J 1(x)/x)2 = 0.0175.
