CT Angiography: Spiral (Helical) CT and Electron Beam Tomography

Radiology of Peripheral Vascular Diseases

Part of the book series: Medical Radiology ((Med Radiol Diagn Imaging))

Abstract

In X-ray CT attenuation profiles of a transverse slice of a patient or object are measured from a multitude of angular positions. An X-ray tube, with its beam collimated to a fan defining the image plane, and a detector array run on a circular path around the patient. Typically, 360 degrees are covered to collect a complete set of data.
