Abstract

High temperature materials commonly operate in environments involving various combinations of oxidation, corrosion, erosion and wear. Satisfactory performance requires the component to have resistance to these environments as discussed earlier. In some applications the inherent resistance of the base material must be supplemented by a coating in order to ensure the required component life.
