Abstract
Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most frequent entrapment neuropathy. It affects the median nerve where it passes through the fibro-osseous carpal tunnel. The disease occurs predominantly in patients between 35 and 60 years of age. Women are affected 2-5 times more often than men. Up to 50% of cases are bilateral [1].
