Abstract
This chapter describes modern energy efficiency technologies; the recycling industry — which elongates the life-span of raw materials; energy saving techniques for the process industries; biogas energy; electricity storage pilot systems; and presents in the form of a comprehensive table, a comparative cost-benefit analysis of carbon dioxide reduction technologies. The table is also a useful guide for project financiers in terms of assessing the amount of carbon credits that can be acquired from individual technologies. The last part of the chapter examines the rate of return of simulated projects in “North” and “South” countries.
