Abstract

The Kyoto Protocol is an unprecedented initiative forged with the best intentions by countries which participated in the United Nations’ third annual conference on climate change in 1997. It could well be the last straw that could keep the world afloat in a seemingly self-destructing environment as evidenced by a series of recurrent natural disasters since the 1980s.
