Zusammenfassung

Im Unterschied zum Zervixmantel dominiert im Myometrium von Corpus und Isthmus uteri glatte Muskulatur, die Muskelmasse übertrifft eindeutig die des Kollagens (Rorie u. Newton 1967). Grob anatomisch sind äußere und innere Muskelschichten abgrenzbar. Aus vergleichenden funktionellen Studien geht aber hervor, dass äußere und innere Muskelfasern ein Kontinuum darstellen (Abb. 259) und ein Netzwerk mit longitudinalem Verlauf außen und zunehmend spiraliger Anordnung zum Endometrium hin besteht (faszikuläres Arrangement).
