Zusammenfassung

Die Epidemiologie der mesenchymalen Tumoren des Uterus ist durch hohe Dunkelziffern der Inzidenz und Mortalität belastet (Thomssen u. LÖNING 2000). Sie resultieren u. a. aus dem im Vergleich zu epithelialen Tumoren ungleich häufigeren Vorkommen einer jahrelangen asymptomatischen Vorgeschichte und/oder - nach Primärbehandlung - einer zeitlich extrem verzögerten Rezidiverkrankung. Typische Beispiele sind die subklinischen Leiomyome und die Spätrezidive bei Low-grade-Stromasarkomen.
