Abstract
In the last two decades, there has been an enormous increase in diagnostic arthroscopy and arthroscopically performed surgery. With increasingly widespread use of arthroscopy, the use of local anesthesia has also picked up. The knee joint is very suitable because of its specific anatomical build. On the basis of experience in the use of TLA in varicose vein surgery, it was logical to extend the use of this kind of local anesthesia to arthroscopy of the knee joint.
