Abstract
Die Frage nach dem Wert von Biodiversität (im Folgenden BD) wird zur Zeit besonders intensiv und zugleich von so unterschiedlichen Disziplinen wie den Biowissenschaften (im weitesten Sinne), der Ökonomie, der Jurisprudenz, Wissenschaften vom Natur- und Umweltschutz, der Technikfolgenabschätzung und schließlich der Ethik bearbeitet. Dennoch kann nach zwei Jahrzehnten z. T. äußerst kontroverser Diskussion noch nicht einmal von einer Einigung auch nur über die zu bearbeitenden Probleme gesprochen werden.
