Abstract

Anatomy is the basis of radiology and a major pillar of neuroradiology, neurology and neurosurgery. Technical advances in neuroimaging - especially magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) - now enable us to visualize, in vivo, details of the brain that were difficult to assess just a few years ago. These advances provide the finer anatomic display of gyri, sulci, cranial nuclei and cranial nerves required to complement concurrent advances in neurosurgery and neurofunctional imaging.
