Abstract

The degenerative diseases of the central nervous system (eNS) are a heterogeneous group of disorders, genetically determined or with sporadic occurrence and unknown etiology, which may affect the brain and spinal cord with different mechanisms; they may involve the whole nervous system, but often exhibit a remarkable selectivity in affecting one system or another.
