Zusammenfassung
Die Schweiz und Deutschland, die beiden Länder, zwischen denen HansJürgen Ramser im Laufe seiner 4 Jahrzehnte umspannenden akademischen Karriere im wörtlichen und im übertragenen Sinne gependelt ist, stellen für verschiedene Felder der angewandten Wirtschaftsforschung wegen der Verschiedenheit ihrer Institutionen interessante Vergleichsobjekte dar. Dies gilt in besonderem Maße für die Neue Politische Ökonomie, weil sich hier die Auswirkungen von plebiszitärer und repräsentativer Demokratie studieren lassen. Es gilt aber auch für die sozialpolitische Forschung, da sich die sozialen Sicherungssysteme in beiden Ländern schon in ihren Grundkonzeptionen erheblich voneinander unterscheiden.
