Zusammenfassung
Mit traditionellen Investitionsbewertungsverfahren kann der Wert von Handlungsflexibilität nur unzureichend erfasst werden. Der konkurrierende und theoretisch überlegene Realoptionsansatz leidet demgegenüber unter seiner hohen Komplexität. Vor diesem Hintergrund wurde das Budgetierungsverhalten deutscher Unternehmen empirisch untersucht. Dabei wurde deutlich, dass Handlungsspielräume intuitiv berücksichtigt und positiv bewertet werden; Ansätze zur Optionsbewertung kommen wegen ihrer Komplexität jedoch nicht zum Einsatz. Negativ bewertete Investitionen werden aus strategischen Erwägungen dennoch durchgeführt. Die Einflussfaktoren auf Realoptionsrechte können allerdings nur unzureichend eingeschätzt werden.
