The Kent Wilson Group in the 1990s
Scholarly publications form an enduring, but incomplete record of the life of a scientist. Sadly, this record preserves almost nothing in the way of human qualities. I am grateful for this opportunity to share some of my memories of Kent Wilson. All of us can recall one or two extraordinary individuals, whose confidence in us and whose steady encouragement helped us to succeed. Kent was just this kind of person to his many students, postdocs, colleagues, and former collaborators. He was an extraordinary mentor, and a generous friend.
