Zusammenfassung
Proximale Humerusfrakturen stellen mit 5% sämtlicher Frakturen eine häufige Verletzung namentlich in der älteren Population dar. Rund 80% der proximalen Humerusfrakturen sind wenig disloziert und zeigen unter konservativ-funktioneller Therapie gute Ergebnisse [4, 6]. In ca. 20% bestehen aber dislozierte Mehrfragmentfrakturen und Luxationsfrakturen. Diese Frakturformen stellen eine schwerwiegende Verletzung dar, sind therapeutisch schwierig und haben eine unsichere Prognose [9]. Unbehandelt sind Schmerzen und Funktionseinschränkung die Folge von posttraumatischen Fehlstellungen, Humeruskopfnekrosen, Weichteilkontrakturen, periartikulären Verkalkungen und Pseudarthrosen.
