Zusammenfassung
Laserdioden zeichnen sich dadurch aus, daß sie Strom unmittelbar und mit hohem Wirkungsgrad in Licht umwandeln können. Dabei kann die Laseremission in ihrer Intensität und Frequenz direkt und bei entsprechender Aufbauweise bis in den GHz-Bereich über den Strom moduliert werden. Eine typische Ansteuerschaltung für die Direktmodulation von Laserdioden ist schematisch in Abb. 21.1 gezeigt. Mittels der Gleichstromquelle wird ein Vorstrom I 0 eingeprägt, während die Wechselstrommodulation über eine 50 Ω-Leitung zugeführt wird. Die Kapazität C und die Induktivität L dienen dabei zur Trennung von Vorstrom und Modulationsstrom. Zur Wellenwiderstandsanpassung wird zur Laserdiode zumeist ein Vorwiderstand R v, in Serie geschaltet, da der Wechselstrominnenwiderstand einer Laserdiode typischerweise nur 3–10 Ω beträgt.
