Doch was ist der Gegenstand der Ergotherapie? Die Modelle sagen, dass im Mittelpunkt der ergotherapeutischen Arbeit der tätige Mensch steht, genauer,seine Möglichkeiten und Beeinträchtigungen bei der Performanz von Betätigungen (vgl. Kielhofner 1995; CAOT 1997; Chapparo u. Ranka 1997). Das Bieler Modell spricht hier von Handlungsfähigkeit (vgl. Nieuwesteeg u. Somazzi hier im Buch, S. 29 ff).
