Zusammenfassung

Ein vollständiger Überblick über alle verfügbaren Lebensqualitätsmeßinstrumente kann nicht gegeben werden. In den vergangenen Jahren und Jahrzehnten -wurden viele hundert, wahrscheinlich eher einige tausend verschiedene Fragebögen entwickelt. Bullinger spricht von etwa 800 Verfahren zur Erfassung der Lebensqualität.152, Dieses liegt insbesondere daran, weil man sich im Regelfall bei entsprechenden Studien nicht auf bereits publizierte Instrumente verlassen hat. Es wurde jeweils ein neuer Ansatz entwickelt, wenn über die Lebensqualität verschiedener Populationen Aussagen getroffen werden sollten. Für jede Indikation wurden separate Methoden erarbeitet und auch innerhalb der Indikationen fand eine immer weitergehende Spezialisierang statt. Daher wurden viele Ansätze nebeneinander entwickelt, anstatt die verhandenen Instramente weiterzuentwickeln. Dieses führte beispielsweise dazu, daß in einer Untersuchung (die sicherlich auch nicht vollständig war) mehr als 70 verschiedene Lebensqualitätsmeßverfahren allein für den Bereich der Onkologie identifiziert wurden.153, Einige der Methoden werden heute noch genutzt, andere sind nur einmalig angewendet worden.
