Zusammenfassung
Das Kniegelenk muss wegen des aufrechten Ganges des Menschen hohen Ansprüchen in Bezug auf Stabilisierung durch Bandapparat und Muskulatur genügen. Dies setzt aber auch eine sehr differenzierte propriozeptive Informationsvermittlung über Stellung und Belastung der Gelenkstrukturen voraus. Schließlich ziehen am Kniegelenk die peripheren Nerven zum Unterschenkel und Fuß vorbei, die efferente Impulse zu den Muskeln und afferente Meldungen aus Haut und Weichteilen der distalen Anteile der unteren Extremität leiten. Es ist deshalb für den Arzt und im Besonderen für den Therapeuten der Knieverletzungen wichtig, über diese Beziehungen des Knies zu den peripheren Nerven Bescheid zu wissen.
