Zusammenfassung
Bei einem nichtentzündlichen Zentralarterienverschluss (ZAV) mit plötzlicher hochgradiger Sehminderung bzw. Erblindung, charakterisiert durch ein Ödem der zentralen Netzhaut, einen „kirschroten Fleck“ der Makula und eine herabgesetzte Blutströmung retinaler Arterien und Venen (unterbrochene Blutsäule bzw. körnelige Strömung, Verengung des arteriellen Lumens, deutliche Kaliberunregelmäßigkeiten auch der Venen; Abb. 1), ist die Prognose für das Sehvermögen schlecht, wenn keine Behandlung erfolgt. Ein derart geschädigtes Auge bleibt im Falle eines subtotalen oder vollständigen ZAV blind bzw. weist eine hochgradige Sehminderung auf.
