Abstract
As in all phases of medicine and surgery, each case must necessarily be considered individually, but the general dictum of waiting until the later teenage years to perform definitive surgery remains a good one. There is wisdom in waiting for structural maturity to be reached with the purpose of not disturbing growth centers or interfering with the development, in this instance that of the nose as well as the entire face and allied structures. Nonetheless, in specific instances, particularly in deformities that severely disturb nasal function, some type of surgery, preferably conservative, is in order.
