Abstract
The general surgical risks which are present in many surgical operations due to cardiovascular disease, bleeding tendencies, diabetes, etc. have practically no importance in aesthetic plastic surgery of the face. If such a basic disease is present, which can influence the course of an operation unfavorably, surgery is rarely done. In spite of this, complications do sometimes occur and cannot be avoided even with the greatest caution.
