Abstract
K — Kilo. An order of magnitude meaning 103 in the metric system. In computing, based on powers of 2, kilo is most often used to mean 210. To clearly distinguish between the metric and binary contexts, the lowercase letter k is often used to indicate 1000, while uppercase K is used for 1024.
