Zusammenfassung
Jeder 4. – 6. Patient, der ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert wird, betreibt chronischen Alkoholmissbrauch. Das Risiko der Krankenhausaufnahme steigt mit dem Alkoholkonsum an. Die Prävalenz des chronischen Alkoholmissbrauchs ist in vielen operativen Disziplinen sogar höher als in psychiatrischen Kliniken. Die Rate liegt bei Patienten mit einem Poly trauma oder mit operativen Eingriffen im Bereich des Gastrointestinaltraktes bei ca. 50 %. Die alkoholassoziierten Organschäden sind vielfältig und werden in den einzelnen Kapiteln detailliert beschrieben.
