Ethanol ist ein kleines wasseriösliches Moleküi und kann deshalb in alie Gewebe des Körpers eindringen. in der Regel wird Ethanol mit dem Begriff Alkohol gleichgesetzt und in Form Alkoholischer Getränke konsumiert. Dieses Kapitel gibt einen allgemeinen Überblick über den EthanolStoffwechsel. Es werden die verschiedenen enzymatischen Reaktionen, die Pharmakokinetik des Ethanols sowie verschiedene Faktoren beschrieben, die den Stoffwechsel und die Pharmakokinetik beeinflussen.
