Zusammenfassung

Gerade auf dem Gebiet der weniger häufigen Infektionen, bei denen die Haut als Eintrittspforte eine Rolle spielt, z. T. auch betroffen ist, spiegeln sich die Veränderungen wider, die mit der Verbesserung der Hygiene, der Infektionsprophylaxe und der Entwicklung neuer Chemotherapeutika einerseits und mit dem Auftreten neuer, bislang kaum beschriebener Krankheitsbilder andererseits verbunden sind. Die sozialökonomischen Unterschiede und die große Spannweite zwischen den westlichen Ländern und den Ländern der Dritten Welt werden hier deutlich. Seltene Infektionen, die im Osten Europas häufiger, z. T. endemisch vorkommen, z. B. Rickettsiosen und Tularämie, werden nun auch im Westen öfters gesehen.
