Zusammenfassung

Granulomatöse Reaktionen treten im Rahmen verschiedener infektiöser und nichtinfektiöser Erkrankungen auf. Granulome stellen eine fokale, chronisch-entzündliche Gewebsreaktion dar, die durch die Ansammlung von aktivierten und modifizierten Makrophagen, von Epitheloid- und Riesenzellen sowie von randständigen mononukleären Zellen einschließlich T-Lymphozyten und Plasmazellen gekennzeichnet ist. Eosinophile und neutrophile Leukozyten wie auch Fibroblasten sind offenbar sekundär beteiligt. Manche Granulome zeigen zentrale Nekrosen. Ätiologie und Pathogenese der Granulombildung sind im Einzelnen uneinheitlich. Grundlegendes Prinzip ist die Aktivierung des mononukleären Phagozytosesystems durch unterschiedliche Stimuli.
