Abstract
Besides classical adenomatosis coli, many other polyposis syndromes of the large bowel have been described and characterized. Common features of the syndromes include the development of polyps in the intestine, an autosomal dominant type of genetic transmission, and the presence of various extraintestinal manifestations, which characterize each specific phenotype.
