Zusammenfassung
Jeder Mensch hat in unserem Kulturkreis eine Vorstellung von Lebensqualität. Am häufigsten wird Lebensqualität assoziiert mit Wohlbefinden, Glück, Freiheit, Zufriedenheit und Wohlstand. Seit einigen Jahren spielt dieser Begriff auch in der Medizin, vor allem in der Onkologie, eine zunehmende Rolle. So wird beispielsweise bei Entscheidungen über Behandlungsmaßnahmen immer stärker darauf Rücksicht genommen, wie sehr dadurch die Lebensqualität der Patientinnen und Patienten beeinflusst wird.
