Zusammenfassung

Bei jedem banalen Schnupfen ist die Schleimhaut des Nasennebenhöhlensystems in irgendeiner Form mit an dem Entzündungsprozess beteiligt. Viele dieser Entzündungen heilen meist sogar ohne weitere Therapie folgenlos ab, somit ist es bisher schwierig, genaue epidemiologische Daten über die akute Sinusitis zu erheben [1].
