Die Organisation der odontostomatologischen Identifizierung variiert in den einzelnen Ländern. Meist haben die Rechtsodontologen darauf wenig oder keinen Einfluss. Damit ist auch der Qualitätsstandard der Rechtsodontologen international unterschiedlich.
