Zusammenfassung

Schrittmacherpatienten leiden meist an koronarer Herzkrankheit, Kardiomyopathie, peripheren Gefäßerkrankungen, Hypertonie oder Diabetes mellitus und stehen fast immer unter Dauermedikation (z.B. Glykoside und Antiarrhythmika). Für den Anästhesisten besteht das Hauptproblem normalerweise nicht im Schrittmachersystem, sondern in der für das Anästhesierisiko bestimmenden Grundkrankheit und dem oft sehr hohen Alter der Schrittmacherpatienten. Ein präoperativ funktionierender Schrittmacher dürfte normalerweise bei Beachtung aller Vorsichtsmaßnahmen intraoperativ keine Probleme bringen. Unter bestimmten Bedingungen können jedoch in der perioperativen Phase auch präoperativ intakte Schrittmachersysteme gestört werden und z.T. lebensbedrohliche Komplikationen verursachen.
