Die Blutstillung basiert auf der Wechselwirkung zwischen Gefäßwand, Thrombozyten, plasmatischer Gerinnung und dem fibrinolytischen System. Ist das Zusammenspiel der komplexen Wechselwirkungen dieser Systeme gestört, führt dies entweder zu erhöhter Blutungsneigung oder zur Thrombose.
