Bei Embolisationstherapien für onkologische Patienten kann unterschieden werden zwischen

  • der Leberembolisation/-okklusion im Rahmen der intraarteriellen Chemotherapie bei primären und sekundären Lebermalignomen,

  • der präoperativen Devaskularisation durch transarterielle Embolisation bei hypervaskulären Tumoren,

  • der Embolisation zur Blutstillung bei blutenden Tumoren und

  • der prophylaktischen Embolisation mit dem Ziel der Vermeidung von Blutungen und Besserung von Schmerzen.
