Zusammenfassung
Die unikompartimentelle Knieendoprothese (UKP) bleibt ein kontrovers diskutiertes Implantat. Obwohl niemand bestreitet, dass die funktionellen Ergebnisse besser sind als bei den Totelknieendoprothesen (TKP) [6] und vielleicht auch als bei den Valgusumstellungsosteotomien [9], so werden die Langzeitergebnisse dieser Implantate doch oft als unzureichend angesehen. Dennoch haben bestimmte Autoren bemerkenswerte Ergebnisse berichtet, die keinen Vergleich mit den besten Ergebnissen der Totalprothesen zu scheuen brauchen [2]. Diese besonders ausgewählten Serien von sehr erfahrenen Zentren werden durch die Ergebnisse des schwedischen Knieprothesenregisters bestätigt [7], das nur einen minimalen Unterschied bei den Überlebensraten nach zehn Jahren findet: 88 % bei den TKP, 84 % bei den UKP. Man muss sich also fragen, welche Ursachen der Misserfolg bestimmter UKP hat und darf nicht ihr Prinzip als solches verurteilen.
