Abstract
In this chapter we introduce random field models for textures. We restrict ourselves to a model introduced in CHR. GRAFFIGNE (1987) because it once more illustrates the ideas from Chapter 2, and to the auto-models from J. BESAG (1974, 1986), mainly because of their historical interest. Readers interested in image textures and their deeper relation to random fields may pick up the track from the monograph G.L. GIMEL’FARB (1999).
